1/24/12 at 3:23 a.m. — SLCFD responded to a house fire on the 1200 block of Angle Road, Ft. Pierce. The home, a wooden structure, was fully involved (in flames) when firefighters arrived. Two adults were displaced by the fire. There were no injuries. The structure is uninhabitable and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

1/13/12 a.m. — SLCFD responded to 55 calls overnight (6-6).
1/12/12 at 6:15 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a mobile home fire on the 4600 block of South US Hwy 1. Flames were visible from the back of the home as crews arrived. They report it was 50% involved (in flames) upon arrival. A male, in his early 50s, was ground transported to a local hospital with burns. After further assessment by the hospital, he was later flown to a burn center by Air Rescue. The man was the homeowner, and was outside of the structure when crews arrived. The fire started in a back bedroom and was listed at accidental (electrical). The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage and the home is considered a total loss.

UPDATE — The patient was a male, believed to be in his 80s. He was transported to a local trauma center because he met trauma criteria. (posted 3:21 p.m.)
1/11/12 at 2:42 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a MVC at the 126 MM of I-95 NB. This was just north of the Midway Road exit. A semi-truck and a small car were involved, with “severe” damage to the small car according to arriving crews. The driver of the car was pinned in the car. The driver was ground transported to a local trauma center. No other information available at this time.
