Thursday Morning Update

January 31, 2008

1/30/08 at 6:22 p.m. — SLCFD responded to an SUV rollover at 12601 S Indian River Drive.  Transported by ground a female in her 30s with minor injuries.  Single vehicle accident, no other injuries. 

Update on the Wallace Automotive Fire — SLCFD Fire Investigators estimate damage to be around $2 million, including the building, tools, and lifts.  The fire was accidental and started as workers worked on a fuel tank which ignited.

Monday Morning Update

January 28, 2008

1/27/08 at 6:31 p.m. — SLCFD responded to an auto accident on the 800 block of SW College Park Rd., PSL.  The car hit a home.  A female in her mid-40s was transported by ground to a local hospital with minor injuries.  PSLPD was also on the scene. 

1/27/08 at 11:44 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a stabbing on the 1100 block of N. 17th Street, Ft. P.  A male (adult) was flown to a northern trauma center in serious but stable condition.  FPPD was also on the scene.

Friday AM Update 1/25/2008

01/25/2008 01:35  AM   MVC in Port St Lucie, near Cashmere Blvd and Torino Prkwy; single car rollover, 2 males in the early 20s were ejected, both sustained critical injuries; both were treated and flown to a southern trauma center.  TW


Thursday AM Update

January 24, 2008

01/23/2008 06:35  PM   MVC at Emerson Ave and Russo Rd; involving passenger car and semi-tractor trailer; one person in critical condition was treated and flown to a northern trauma center.

01/24/2008  06:36 AM   MVC at Indrio Rd and US#1; involving a motorcycle and a truck; the driver of the motorcycle sustained critical injuries, was treated and transported by ground to a local hospital.


FF Delivers Baby at Station 5

January 23, 2008

UPDATE — The mother and grandmother drove to Fire Station #5… the baby was delivered in the SUV they were driving.   

1/23/08 at 8:51 a.m. — A pregnant woman came into SLCFD Fire Station #5 (1616 PSL Blvd.).  Paramedic Ryan Miller delivered the baby at the station approximately 5 minutes later.  Mother and baby girl are doing fine.  SLCFD transported the two to a local hospital.

Wednesday Morning Update

January 23, 2008

1/22/08 at 9:45 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a house fire at 1998 Jaynell St., FT. P.  Fire was contained to the attic.  No injuries, no one was home at the time of the fire.  Fire is under investigation.

Tuesday Morning Update

January 22, 2008

1/21/08 at 3:22 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a vehicle accident at 3801 S. US 1, Ft. Pierce.  A male in his mid-20s was flown to a southern trauma center in serious but stable condition.  FPPD was on the scene. 

1/21/08 at 10:14 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a drowning on the 100 block of SW Ridgecrest in PSL.  An adult male was found in a pool (age not known).  He died at the scene.  PSLPD was on the scene.

Friday Morning Update

January 18, 2008

1/18/08 at 12:31 a.m. — SLCFD responded to a house fire on the 6700 block of NW Duke Ave., PSL.  No injuries.  The family, a mother, teenage son, and 6-week-old baby, were home at the time.  (The father was working at the time.)  Cause of the fire was a malfunction in an electrical panel.  Flames were contained to the garage, but smoke damage was throughout the house.  The Red Cross was called to assist the family.  Estimated damage is $100,000.
