At 02:14, Monday the 12th, SLCFD firefighters were called to 7603 Ft Walton Ave in Lakewood Park. Firefighters arrived to find fire in the attic space with flames through the roof. The fire was under control within 20 minutes, though firefighting efforts were hampered by limited access into the attic and high winds. The fire was accidentally started in a teenager’s bedroom closet then spread to the attic. The house is occupied by the two adults and a teenager. Everyone got out of the house without injury. The house is not livable due to fire, smoke and water damage and the family is being assisted by the Red Cross with shelter. 08:00 DC Tom Whitley
