November 27, 2008Wednesday Morning Update
November 26, 200811/25/08 at 6:26 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a motorhome vs. a semi on the 100 block of North Kings Highway. The side of the semi pinned the driver of the motorhome. It took SLCFD Special Operations 50 minutes to free the driver of the motorhome. The motorhome driver, a man in his 60s, was flown to a southern trauma center in serious but stable condition. There were two men in the semi, but they declined any medical treatment. FHP and SLCSO was also on the scene.
ALSO — Tonight the Big Heart Brigade will be cooking and assembling Thanksgiving Dinners at the SLCFD Administration Complex (5160 NW Milner Drive, PSL). The activity will start around 4:30 p.m. Will send a media advisory this morning.

Tuesday Morning Update
November 25, 200811/24/08 at 11:56 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a vehicle accident at SW Firestone Ave and PSL Blvd., PSL. A PSLPD vehicle and and 4-door car were involved. Both the PSLPD officer and the driver of the other car were ground transported to a local hospital in stable condition (with non-life threatening injuries).

Savannas Planning a Prescribed Burn
November 24, 2008The Savannas State Park is planning a prescribed burn on Tuesday, November 25, starting at 9 a.m. The 58-acre burn will be near Kitterman and Lennard Rd.

Monday Morning Update
November 24, 2008UPDATE on 139 MM accident — both patients (males) ground transported with minor injuries. The accident was a result of one driver going southbound in the northbound lane. FHP want on the scene.
11/24/08 at 4:50 a.m. — SLCFD responded to a vehicle accident at 139 MM of the Turnpike. Ground transported two patients. No other details at this time.
Also, at 7:37 a.m. — SLCFD responded to a vehicle accident at Indrio Rd and I-95. No details available.
Will update both accidents when they become available.

Yesterday, at the November Fire Board meeting, commissioners welcomed the newest member Chris Dzadovsky. SLC Commissioner Dzadovsky replaced Joe Smith on the Fire Board. In addition, Doug Coward was elected Vice Chairman.

Tractor-Trailer Rolls Over on Turnpike Off Ramp
November 19, 200811/18/08 at 10:28 — St. Lucie County Fire District responded to a tractor-trailer rollover on the NB exit ramp to Okeechobee Road (at the 152 MM) of the Turnpike. The SLCFD Special Operations unit was called to extricate the driver. Because of the extent of damage to the cab, the driver was not able to be extricated until just before midnight. The driver, a male in his early 60s, was ground transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries in stable condition.
