10/2/08 at 1:46 p.m. — Yesterday afternoon, SLCFD responded to a semi rollover on the 24000 block of Okeechobee, FP.  No injuries.  Special Operations responded to the scene to deal with a fuel leak.

St. Lucie County Fire District Releases Results of Investigation

The St. Lucie County Fire District will release the results of the internal investigation regarding inappropriate actions by a firefighter at a vehicle accident on I-95.   

WHERE:    

Press conference will be held at the SLCFD Administration Complex, 5160 NW Milner Dr., Port St. Lucie 

WHEN:      

10 a.m., Thursday, October 2 

NOTE TO MEDIA:  Fire Chief Ron Parrish will be making a statement and the report will be released.

10/01/08 at 11:15 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a stabbing at 904 Mades Drive (Sabel Chase Apartments), Ft. Pierce.  Flew a male, in his 20s, to a northern trauma center in stable condition. 

10/02/08 at 2:45 a.m. — SLCFD responded to a structure fire at 1251 SW California (Oak Hammock K-8).  Electrical malfunction in the kitchen caused a small fire which was extinguished by the sprinkler system.  Water damage in the kitchen.  The school is open.

9/29/08 at 9:20 p.m. — SLCFD responded to the victim of a gunshot wound on the 2800 block of Avenue L.  The victim, a male in his late 20s, was flown to a southern trauma center in serious but stable condition.  The man had been the passenger in a car.  Location of the shooting not known. 

9/30/08 at 1:20 a.m. — SLCFD responded to another gunshot wound on the 700 block of 24th Street.  The victim, a male in his late 50s, was ground transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.  He was not flown to a trauma center due to weather conditions.

9/27/08 at 12:37 p.m. — Saturday afternoon, SLCFD responded to a motorcycle vs. car accident at SW Gatlin and SW PSL Blvd.  A male and a female were flown from the scene, both in critical condition.  The male had been the driver of the motorcycle and the female was his passenger.  The driver (and sole occupant) of the car declined any medical treatment.  PSLPD was also on scene.

9/25/08 at 9:26 p.m. — SLCFD responded to a house fire on the 7700 block of Holopaw Avenue, Ft. P.  The resident of the house, a male, was not home at the time.  Fire investigators determined it was arson and estimate the damage at $1,000.  Arriving crews saw heavy smoke in the area and were directed to the home the SLCSO on the scene.  There were 3 fires in the home, one pile of clothing on fire in the laundry room, one mattress on fire in the master bedroom and paperwork in another bedroom.  The structure suffered heavy smoke damage.
